The fully Self-Sustainable Project
Self- Sustainability Model
The entire farm will be fitted with a solar-powered electricity power generator system from lights to the geyser, from borehole to irrigation system.
There is a strong borehole with 5000 litres per hour to provide water. To farm dwellers.
There is enough place for dairy farming just to provide milk for students and staff.
There will be small scale vegetable farming in the greenhouse just to provide for students and staff.
We are planning to set up a small scale free-range chicken poultry farm to supply chickens and eggs for students and staff.
We already have sheep and goats hut which can be extended to provide animals for Qurbani for sadaqah and during the eid-ul-Adha to the general public for Eid Qurbani

Borehole
Allhumdulliah Darul Uloom is blessed with a potable sweet water borehole. The borehole is 50 meters deep and sitting on the aqua fire of granite and chert rocks sediments the underneath flowing rivers abundant with micronutrients and excellent chemical composition with the rich minerality of TDS 230 and pH of 6.8-7 which is excellent neutral water with zero nitrates. The water is blessed with therapeutic attributes which are a natural gift to the million years old valley of Magaliesburg.
The borehole strength is 5000 litres per hour.
Aquaponic Garden
Aquaponics is a method of food production that integrates aquaculture with hydroponics. This symbiotic relationship facilitates a sustainable system with little input necessary. Good bacteria build-up, which then converts the toxins produced from fish waste into nutrients used by plants. By absorbing these nutrients, the plants filter the water, giving the fish a livable environment. This cycle helps keep the tank in good shape for both fish and plants. We are currently growing vegetables in a veggie garden and our intention is to turn the entire section into an Aquaponic and hydroponic garden with a hands-on learning experience for our Darul Uloom students. We actively looking for financial donations and in-kind donations. If you're interested to sponsor an aquaponic setup then please contact us or simply donate by visiting the "To Donate" section.

Vegetable Garden
We currently growing a variety of vegetables as the soil is fertile and the farm ecosystem provide enough compose the feed the vegetable growing needs.
The vegetable garden has an abundance of spinach, tomatoes, bell peppers, mint, okra, butternut, baby marrow, Morogoro, gem-squash, cors, watermelons, chillies and cucumbers. Our plan is to convert this beautiful veg garden into a greenhouse tunnel, but are lacking funding, if you are interested in sponsor tunnels or financial donations then please contact us or simply donate online by visiting to donate section.
All vegetables and herbs grown at the farm consume by students and staff.

Mini Poultry Farm
We have set up a mini broiler chicken poultry farm with 100 chicken run every six weeks. This mini poultry farm is hands-on learning for resident students and also chicken grows there are consumed by students at Darul Uloom. We are planning to increase the size of the poultry farm and commercialise for a fresh halal chicken provider to the Muslim community and the income will subsidise the running cost of Darul Uloom. This mini-project will also enhance the students business skills as lean-start up businesses.
Solarised Power generation
We are currently waiting for the funding to completely solarise the entire far with solarised power generated electricity. This will serve the dual purpose one is to minimise the high cost of Eskom power bills and the other one is to contribute toward the green-living lifestyle which environmental friendly.

As our aim is to have Darul Uloom Ravai Ilyas Magaliesburg fully self-sustainable and self-efficient from power to water and food supply.
Mini Dairy Farm
We have earmarked the back of the farm area to set up a mini dairy farm with two cows which will provide enough dairy products to cater for the needs of resident students.

Request for your duas and donation to make this project a reality inshaa Allah.
