Permaculture
the development of agricultural ecosystems intended to be sustainable and self-sufficient. A permaculture is an approach to land management and settlement design that adopts arrangements observed in flourishing natural ecosystems. It includes a set of design principles derived using whole systems thinking. Our Darul Uloom is based on the farm and it is an ideal place for a hands-on learning experience of permaculture management. The Deeni taleem will be complemented with additional vocational courses to equip students with contemporary life skills, business management and ICT skill.
Poultry farming
Poultry farming is a lucrative business and easy to start with the low capital layout, itis provides income and help in household food sustenance and overall food security for the country. We have built a mini poultry farm for 100 chickens and intend to increase to 400 cycles every six weeks. Students at the Darul Uloom will have an opportunity to learn and run a poultry farm and get a real-life experience of the growing cycle and business implications and profitabilities.
Broilers are chickens that are grown for meat purposes. These birds will grow quickly and will require a good amount of energy and protein to sustain this fast growth.
Broiler breeders are birds that are reared to produce broilers and are themselves not reared to be eaten, but rather to lay fertilised eggs. Their level of nutrition should be of sufficient quality to sustain optimal fertility and good quality eggs.
Layers are birds that are reared to produce unfertilised eggs that will be sold to consumers to eat. Their level of nutrition should be of sufficient quality to produce good quality, heavy eggs.
This is two years course and also can be taken through online for non resident students, please contact us for fees and enrollment.

Goat and Sheep Farming
Goat and Sheep farming is the sunnah of our Prophet Mohammed PBUH and also a lucrative business. Goat farming involves the raising and breeding of domestic goats (Capra aegagrus hircus) is a branch of animal husbandry. People farm goats principally for their meat, milk, fibre and skins.
Goat farming can be very suited to production alongside other livestock (such as sheep and cattle) on low-quality grazing land. Goats efficiently convert sub-quality grazing matter that is less desirable for other livestock into quality lean meat. Furthermore, goats can be farmed with a relatively small area of pasture and with limited resources. We have small scale Goat and sheep kraal which will provide our students with a hands-on learning experience of all aspects of Goat and Sheep farming. The farm at Darul Uloom also will provide the Qurbani facility during Eid-ul-Adha and also on an ongoing basis for sadaqah. This is a two years course. if you wish to sponsor this course for students then please contact us.
Computer Literacy
We used to think of the three R’s—reading, writing, and arithmetic—as the foundational skills in today’s education systems. As we turn to a new decade, it’s time to add another: digital.
Nowhere is the need for digital skills more pressing than in Africa. Home to eight of the ten fastest-growing economies, Africa has enormous potential. To ensure positive economic growth and development that benefits all citizens, Africa must make big strides in digital literacy. In Sub Saharan Africa, 230 million jobs will require digital skills by 2030, according to the Digital Skills in Sub-Saharan Africa report that IFC recently published. This translates into an opportunity estimated at $130 billion to provide digital skills through a combination of business-to-consumer, business-to-business, and business-to-government training services.
At Darul Uloom Ravia Ilyas Magaliesburg we will provide each student with cutting edge ICT training and make sure after their graduation they are employable and fully computer literate. we are partnering with Suyafunda to provide computer lab for training and develpment.
