About Darul Uloom Ravia Ilyas Magaliesburg

The Darul Uloom Ravia Ilyas Magaliesburg (DURIM) is situated in the beautiful valleys of Hartbeestfontien near the cradle of humankind and lies between two of the mightiest and oldest mountain ranges of South Africa Malagiesburg and Witwatersrand mountains, it is only forty-five minutes drive from  Johannesburg. The build dedicated to the RIM is a historical 110 years old school that was built in 1910 and was opened by Klooper for Afrikaans education. The farm is two hectors plot boost with two dwellings and hosts of indigenous flowers and fauna.

 

Salman Khan’s family have dedicated this farm to the services of Islam for education and propagation of Islam. This madrassah will accommodate onsite 50 students who will receive schooling, madrassah and hefaz classes with live-in accommodation.The school which have four classrooms, an admin office, kitchen and toilets & showers will be converted into jamaat khan, an Islamic library, madrassah and hefaz classes, student maualeem and Imaam’s accommodation.

 

The Ravia Ilyas Madrassah and Darul Uloom is dedicated to fond memories of my dear late niece Ravia and my father Mohammed Ilyas.

Appeal for Assistace and Donation

We respectfully appeal to you to consider supporting Darul Uloom Ravia Ilyas through financial contributions, Sadaqah, Lillah, Zakaat (where applicable), or donations in kind. Your assistance will directly contribute towards sustaining and expanding the services provided by the institution.

​

Among the urgent needs currently identified are:

  • Food supplies and groceries (monthly contribution is encouraged)

  • Bedding, blankets and mattresses (R7000)

  • Kitchen utensils, gas stoves and catering equipment (R5000)

  • Educational materials and Islamic literature (In-kind or financial donation)

  • Furniture, cupboards and accommodation necessities (R3000)

  • General operational and maintenance support (monthly contribution is encouraged)

  • Sponsorship towards boarding and meal expenses (monthly contribution is encouraged)

  • Renovation of Wadhu khana (R5000)

  • Solar power supply to get off grid (R25,000)

  • Used or new Clothing and footwear for needy students for both 34 male female (age 7 to 20 years old)

Note: we will be placing clothing collection boxes at Sunninghill Jamaat Khana, please handed your gifts to Mauzzin Moosa.
