The Agriculture Youth Boot Camp held at Darul Uloom Ravia Ilyas Magaliesburg (DURIM) from 19 to 26 December jointly hosted by DURIM and Ashraful Aid has concluded with outstanding success, marking a meaningful investment in youth development, faith formation, and practical agricultural skills.

The six-day intensive residential camp brought together 30 young participants between the ages of 12-22, supported by dedicated coaches and Deeni teaching Ustaads, in a structured and disciplined learning environment. The programme was power-packed from Fajir Salah to Esha, offering a holistic schedule of continuous learning, physical activity, and character development.
DURIM and Ashraful Aid is proud to be of a pioneering Agriculture Youth Residential Bootcamp , a week-long immersive programme designed to empower, educate, and inspire young people through a unique blend of recreational, agricultural, pharmaculture, and Deeni learning. The camp will took place from 19 to 26 December 2025 at the serene and spiritually uplifting grounds of Darul Uloom Ravia Ilyas in Magaliesburg.
This initiative comes at a time when young people are seeking deeper purpose, practical skills, and grounding environments that nurture both character and capability. The Bootcamp offers exactly that — a holistic environment where participants are immersed 24 hours a day in an Islamic, disciplined, and motivating atmosphere under the guidance of qualified trainers, coaches, and Ustaads.
A Transformational Experience
Over the course of seven days, youth attendees will engage in a structured programme that includes:

1. Farm management fundamentals
2. Pharmaculture and sustainable agriculture
3. Poultry farming
4. Goat and sheep rearing
5. Vegetable tunnelling and food production
6. Soccer clinics and tournaments
7. Physically challenging team-building activities
8. Daily Deeni Taleem and spiritual development
This unique combination of practical life skills and Islamic education ensures that every participant returns home with strengthened discipline, improved confidence, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Why This Bootcamp Matters
The programme aims to prepare young people for real-world responsibility — on the farm, in their homes, and in their communities. By connecting them to nature, productivity, and their faith, DURIM seeks to raise a generation that is grounded, resilient, and committed to excellence.
Venue
Darul Uloom Ravia Ilyas, Magaliesburg DURIM
A peaceful learning environment surrounded by mountains, farms, and fresh air, offering the perfect space for youth to disconnect from distractions and reconnect with meaningful growth.
Participants were immersed in comprehensive Islamic education, including the study of Islam, the Qur’an, Sunnah, Islamic etiquette (Adab), and moral discipline, ensuring spiritual grounding alongside worldly skills. This was complemented by hands-on training in agriculture and agri-enterprise, covering areas such as pharmaculture, poultry farming (layers and broilers), goat and sheep rearing, vegetable tunneling, and farm management.

Beyond classroom and field-based instruction, the camp placed strong emphasis on physical development, teamwork, and leadership. Activities included a soccer clinic and tournament, athletics, problem-solving exercises, team-building challenges, and recreational sports, fostering resilience, cooperation, and confidence among participants.

The Agriculture Youth Boot Camp adopted an intensive, “guerrilla-style” learning model over six days, designed to build discipline, adaptability, and practical competence in real-world environments. The programme successfully integrated faith, food security, entrepreneurship, and youth empowerment, aligning with broader goals of sustainable development and community upliftment.
